Description

A taste of Frankfort

Event Details

An immersive experience highlighting the rich history and surging comeback of brewing in Central KY. A guided paddle through the heart of the Capital City, followed by a downtown tour including beer tastings at multiple locations, lunch and a behind the scenes tour of one facility. Includes a one of a kind souvenir tasting mug to keep.

These experiences begin by meeting at Riverview Park in downtown Frankfort. We will ride one of CKY's buses to the put in at Lee's Landing, where your boats and gear will be awaiting you. We will then paddle with Canoe Kentucky's expert guides, downstream to Blanton's Landing, just inside what we call downtown. We will leave our boats at the dock, then walk a short distance to Bourbon on Main, where will enjoy a tasting from one of Frankfort micro breweries. All tastings at all the stops will be four products or different beers, each being 3 ounces, totaling 12 ounces.

We will then walk a short distance to Goodwood Brewery for another tasting. After a tasting and a chance to view the river from a great high vantage point, we will walk with a guide interpreting some of Frankfort's unique history, including Civil War era, Daniel Boone, the river's impact on brewing and bourbon, and more!

Our short walk through downtown will find us at Sig Luscher, one of Frankfort's newest and oldest breweries, recently resurrected! Another tasting and another short walk puts us at River Boat Grill, Frankfort's only floating restaurant. We will enjoy the river view as we watch boats pass and savor our river side food. After lunch and another beer, we head back to the boats where we continue down river, ending back at Riverview Park, our starting location!

After your tour, the expert guides from CKY can direct you back to any of the breweries for you to enjoy more of your drink of choice, or do a little shopping to take a growler or six pack home. We encourage our guests to patronize all of our partners on this trip; all local, homemade and home raised products!

This trip is available on Sundays in the warmer months, May through October. Groups of 15 or more can custom cater these trips and have them done at other dates and times. Trip is open to all ages, but to participate in any
