4th Annual Community Interfaith Peace Concert:
Call To Unity!
A multi-cultural concert for global peace presented by Interfaith Paths to Peace in partnership with Sister Cities of Louisville. Featuring ensemble and choir performances by musicians of diverse faiths, nationalities, and cultures.
Led by renowned jazz pianist, Harry Pickens.
The Peace Concert is presented annually in celebration of the United Nations World Interfaith Harmony Week which is observed during the first week of February.
The purpose of the concert is to promote inter-religious and intercultural dialogue for global unity and peace through music. There are many who seek to divide us -- this concert intends to bring us all together as one -- regardless of our faiths, traditions, or backgrounds.
We are excited to announce the musicians for the 2019 Call To Unity Peace Concert:
Musicians from Universidad de Las Americas in Quito, Ecuador, Jazz and Indigenous music* (info below)
Shir Chadash Temple Choir led by Dr. Louie Bailey, Congregation Adath Israel Brith Sholom
Sulh Ensemble, Southeast Asian music and Folk music of Malay Muslims and Thai Buddhists
The Choir from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Louisville Members
Featuring Gregory Rahming, International Opera Singer, and Harry Pickens, Renowned Jazz Pianist
*Students and faculty from the School of Music at the Universidad de Las Americas in Quito, Ecuador, are participating in a reciprocal Jazz exchange program with the University of Louisville, sponsored by Sister Cities of Louisville. They will perform both Jazz and indigenous music at UofL's 2019 JazzFest on February 13th and in local schools during their weeklong visit.
Doors open at 5:30 -- Please arrive early to secure a parking space.
St. Paul Church Parking:
Our church is a bit “landlocked,” as we are located in a thriving residential/commercial area. But we have a lot of off-street parking behind the church buildings. The entrance of this lot is off of Douglass Boulevard.
Additional SpacesIn addition to our Douglass Boulevard parking lot, we have hundreds of parking spaces in the alley adjacent to our building. From the Douglass Boulevard parking lot, drive under the overpass and turn left in
