After-School Nature Explorers with Ms. Brown is open to students in JK - 3rd grade who have an interest in exploring nature and experimenting with unusual art materials - and don’t mind getting a bit dirty!
After-School Nature Explorers with Ms. Brown meets Tuesdays from 3:30 - 5:00 p.m., April 9th - May 14th, 2019.
This spring, grab your rain boots and join us in exploring our beautiful campus and the many plants and animals that call it home! We’ll go on an adventure in the wetlands to observe frogs, tadpoles, fish, and birds, take a stroll in the woods, visit the garden, and sketch the chickens. During our time outside, we’ll collect leaf, flower, and feather specimens, which we’ll then identify and use for art projects like papier-mâché bowls or lanterns, collages, sketchbooks, leaf mandalas, and sun-catchers. Starting the first week of class, we’ll grow our own plants - and do some experiments with them! We’ll also make plant based dyes to use on fabric or yarn and do some weaving using natural materials. This is one After-School Program you don't want to miss!

1. What if I need additional childcare after 5:00 p.m.? ?If you need additional childcare after 5:00 p.m. our Enrichment program will be available at a pro-rated rate of $10 per day. This program is available until 5:30 p.m. Students may ride the Activity Bus for $6 per day. Daily drop-in services like Enrichment and the Activity Bus should be communicated and coordinated through your lead teacher.
2. Will there be make-up days if there is a snow day???Typically we don't offer a make-up day to offset a snow day. If there is to be a make-up day, that would be at the sole discretion of Ms. Brown.
