Ethics and Decision Making in Art Therapy
Presented by Jodi Bessinger, MA, LPAT, LPCC
At the Riverport Landing- Family Scholar House on May 17, 2019 from 9am to 4pm (Registration at 8:30 am) Lunch Provided
Participants who attend this full training will earn six (6) hours of continuing education through the NBCC (approval pending) and must register in advance on Eventbrite.
Program description: This training will facilitate discussion and provide understanding of the ethical guidelines and regulations set forth by the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC) code of ethics, the American Art Therapy Association (AATA) Ethical Principles for art therapists, and KY laws. Topics will include: confidentiality, responsibility to clients, students & supervisees, documentation, electronic communication and more.
This training is appropriate for Licensed Professional Art Therapists, Licensed Professional Clinical Counselors, Qualified Mental Health Professionals.
Training Objectives::
Define ethical behaviors and best practices for counselors/therapists including confidentiality, communication and responsibility to the client.
Detail the ethical-decision making process used by counselors/therapists when faced with ethical dilemmas.
Evaluation their own ethical commitment to other professionals, students, interns and supervisees as well as to employers, the mental health field and the public.
Identify ways to address ethical concerns regarding electronic media with clients.
