Celebrate that special mother-figure in your life with a Mother's Day hike on Saturday, May 11, 1-2pm. Soak in the beauty of Spring in Cherokee Park before summer takes over! Matt Spalding (Education and Volunteer Program Manager) will lead a hike in the Baringer Spring area of the park, looking at plants of interest along woodland paths and prairies. Afterward, enjoy complimentary lemonade and cookies, and every mom in attendance will take home a rose!
This is an all-ages event. Children should be accompanied by an adult. This hike is rain or shine (but may be subject to postponement or cancellation in the event of severe weather). Weather-appropriate clothes and footwear with good tread are encouraged. We will meet up at the Overlook Shelter at Baringer Hill (aka "Dog Hill"). Please arrive 10 minutes early to ensure a prompt start.
Tickets are free for Olmsted Parks Conservancy members and $8 for non-members. (If non-members choose to become members within 1 week after the hike, the $8 ticket price will be taken off the price of membership - contact Kate Spencer at 502-456-8128 for details.)
