Come learn the fundamentals of hand lettering and sign painting from the man behind Slugger City Sign Company (@slugger_city_signs), Brandon ‘Alyx’ McClain. This three hour hands on workshop is for designers of all levels to brush up on their lettering skills. In this class you will learn about the proper tools and techniques needed for brush lettering.
Workshop overview:
• Quick history lesson about Alyx and his work• Break down of the basics for brush lettering and techniques used in creating letter forms • Take your newly found knowledge and put it to work in developing your own brush letter alphabet
Instructor:Branden ‘Alyx’ McClain (Slugger City Signs) is a self-taught artist born and raised in Louisville, KY. He draws inspiration from traditional sign writing techniques, street art culture, and his urban surroundings to produce both commercial and gallery work. He has a passion for place-making and community engagement, and loves being able to brighten people’s days through large scale public art.
