The affordable housing crisis impacts cities all across the country. In particular, the Louisville and Southern Indiana area is short 24,000 units of affordable housing. Affordable housing includes more than bricks and mortar or the payment of rent or a mortgage. The ancillary costs associated with housing can often be the tipping point that pushes someone into a situation that is untenable.
The Reconstuct Challenge is addressing the vital need to make equitable housing more accessible for everyone through new and innovative solutions.
