Event Details
Join a speaking event and discussion on the role and responsibility of white LGBTQIA people to join in solidarity with the African community's struggle for Black Power and self-determination.Kalambayi Andenet, the President of the International People's Democratic Uhuru Movement, a member of the National Central Committee of the African People's Socialist Party, and a veteran of the FERGUSON UPRISING, will be the keynote speaker! Also speaking will be KC Mackey, the Midwest Regional Representative of the African People's Solidarity Committee and Uhuru Solidarity Movement. Challenging the historic opportunism of white-led LGBT movements seeking rights within a system built on slavery and genocide, this event will show the way forward to building principled solidarity based on unity through reparations to African people. This is the Louisville stop of a national tour by the Uhuru Solidarity Movement to raise reparations for the Black Power Blueprint, a St. Louis-based black-led economic development project for African self-determination.
