Riverview at Hobson Grove

Description

Riverview at Hobson Grove is a classic example of Italianate architecture-- with arched windows, deep eaves with ornamental brackets, and a cupola. Painted ceilings. Construction began in the late 1850s, until the basement became a Confederate munitions magazine in winter 1861-62. The house was completed 1872. Today the house has been restored as south central Kentucky during the Victorian era and has tours, programs, lectures, and special events throughout the year. GPS Points: 37 00.694N/ 86 27.597W
