About Georgetown

Georgetown, Kentucky is a beautiful town located right off of the I-75 expressway just north of Lexington. Georgetown is a wonderful mix of the past and present. Easily accessible from the highway you will find a variety of malls and shopping areas offering every product and brand you can imagine. Past the shopping malls you enter into the heart of Georgetown. Main Street is filled with quaint antique shops and boutiques. The historic buildings are surrounded by a beautiful neighborhood that makes you think of the "good ole' days". Not far outside of town you can visit Ward Hall and beautiful Colonial style mansion that has been converted into a historical museum. Ward Hall is also is the burial place of a famous race horse. Georgetown is right in the heart of horse country. The out lying areas of the city are lush green pastures and home to many horses, many who train for the Derby. Once you go to Georgetown you will find it harder and harder to leave. Once you have walked the streets of downtown and talked to the super friendly people you will not be able to imagine visiting any where else. The history and charm of this town can not be matched.
