More than 20,000 businesses and community organizations across the country extend the doors of their local youth shelter by displaying Safe Place's yellow and black diamond-shaped logo. Partnering businesses and community locations that appeal to youth -- such as fast food restaurants, convenience stores, fire stations, public buses and libraries -- connect kids looking for help with a local youth service agency. National Safe Place Network also manages TXT 4 HELP, a 24-hour text-for-support service for youth in crisis to access immediate help and safety. Teens can text the the word SAFE and their current location (address, city, state) to 69866 and receive a text message with the name and address of the closest Safe Place location. Users also have the option to text interactively with a mental health professional for more help.
