February 6, 2019Joint Operational Planning for IT Strategy DevelopmentKeynote Speaker: Dr. Charles E. GrindleCIO - Commonwealth of KentuckyDr. Charles E. Grindle (Colonel, retired, U.S. Army) is an Information Scientist who specializes in information security, policy, and strategy. In addition to holding key military positions in information technology, he has taught academic courses on a variety of subjects including security issues and cyber operations. During more than 29 years of active military service, he was an Army Information Technology and Field Artillery officer. His experience in peace and war included a broad mix of assignments at the tactical, operational and strategic levels of the armed forces as well as several assignments in professional military education. Dr. Grindle graduated from Washington and Jefferson College and was commissioned into the Field Artillery. Dr. Grindle earned his Masters and Ph.D. from the University of Pittsburgh's School of Information Science and holds a second Masters Degree from the U.S. Army War College. Dr. Grindle's awards and decorations include the Legion of Merit; Bronze Star Medal; (4) Meritorious Service Medals; (2) Army Commendation Medals; (4) Army Achievement Medals, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal; and Parachutist's Badge. Dr. Grindle and his wife, Allison, have two children.
