Event Details

After-School Dungeons and Dragons with Mr. Frechette is open to students in 5th - 8th grade who are brave enough to adventure into worlds with endless possibilities.
After-School Dungeons and Dragons with Mr. Frechette meets Thursdays from 3:30-5:30 p.m., April 11th - May 16th, 2019.
Dungeons and Dragons is a tabletop game steeped in nearly five decades of tradition. It is a system for creating a combined narrative between multiple players, with rules and guidelines for determining whether one's actions bring success or failure. Specialized dice are typically used to determine the degree of success or failure; often with heroic, hilarious, and sometimes tragic results.
Players are tasked with creating characters and using creativity, teamwork, and a wide assortment of skills to complete quests, win debates, and when all else fails, defeat foes in combat. Adventures can be single sessions or span multiple meetings, based on the scope of the quest. The settings can be as varied as the genres in a bookstore, but often fall along the themes of fantasy or science fiction.??
Acting as the story narrator, rule guide, and antagonist for the players, a DM, or Dungeon Master, (also sometimes referred to as a Game Master), creates the adventure for each session, and presents challenges and obstacles for the players to overcome.
??Put simply, Dungeons and Dragons is a game of creativity, overcoming adversity, and simple concepts that can span increasingly complex rules as players grow more familiar with the system. It truly is a game that can be adapted and tailored to a huge variety of players, interests, and skill levels. From novice to master, all are welcome!? FAQs
1. What if I need additional childcare after 5:30 p.m.? ?There is no childcare offered after 5:30 p.m. Students may ride the Activity Bus for $6 per day. Daily drop-in services like the Activity Bus should be communicated and coordinated through your lead teacher.
2. Will there be make-up days if there is a snow day??Typically we don't offer a make-up day to offset a snow day. If there is to be a make-up day, that would be at the sole discretion of Mr. Frechette.
